Democratic Radio Address 8/30/08

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, says that America will prosper under the leadership of Democrats.

[1:41]..." or her god given potential. And that's why I'm proud to support Barack Obama. We need leaders who can tap into that unique blend. An American confidence and optimism that has enabled generations before us to meet our toughest challenges. Leaders who will renew the promise of America and restore our leadership in the world. With Barack Obama in the White House and Democrats leading in congress. We will revitalize the economy create jobs make college affordable again. And enable hard working Americans. To pay for gas food utilities and cover the monthly bills. Democrats we'll continue to fight to lower gas prices as we are doing now in congress even as John McCain in the Republican side with big oil. Will be tackling the challenge of 47 million Americans without health insurance. And I for one can't wait to watch president Barack Obama with the support of a democratic congress. Signed in July Universal Health Care that covers every single American. Will work hard to give middle class families the tax breaks they deserve will fight so women -- equal pay for equal work. We'll bring our troops home from Iraq responsibly. And ensure that our veterans are given the care and respect they have earned. But proper response be -- this is a fight for our future. Next week John McCain and the leaders of the Republican Party will hold a convention that offers a starkly different vision for our nation. Continuing in the same direction we're headed now. John McCain has said that our economy is fundamentally sound. John McCain doesn't think the 47 million people without health insurance is a crisis. John McCain wants to privatize Social Security. And he's promised tax breaks for the biggest corporations instead of middle class families. And in 2008. He still thinks it's okay that women aren't earning equal pay for equal work. That's why as I said to my fellow Democrats in Denver. It makes perfect sense that George Bush and John McCain will be together next week. In the Twin Cities for the Republican convention. Because these days they're awfully hard to tell apart. The choice in this election is as clear as the stakes are high. I -- all of you to join us in supporting the great ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And help elect Democrats in congress who will work with them. We don't have a moment to lose -- vote to spare. "...
