Play from 0:00[0:00]" Could see everybody. -- questions yeah. -- you. -- you. Yeah well you know skirts here encampments. Work hard you know and we have seen him do everything in his power get back in the positions contribute and help this team on the field you know what we've kind of been through through the diagnosis process is really behind us I think. It was some bumps along the road because both parties care so much about the team and about his career and doing what's right. But now we're here in spring training it's you know. Treats employees here rehab and get back in position health club we just actually that it went on to you know and I and John farrow. The rosters -- on the same page. What's it it's this way too early to put any kind of content alliances step by step is at the very beginning of the process. He got a cortisone shots. Actually on Monday -- originally scheduled for for Friday and it became three they strapped at the last minute of better to synchronize. His arrival at camp with the right read about it day after the cortisone shot. Just our work tomorrow. I'm sure it is that's not really you know this are really our place to put a timetable on -- right now I think it's you know it's. -- me. Rehab and strengthening for at least you know six to eight weeks. Normalcy would see -- ago there. It's hard to say. -- just been you know what's important now is that. Is this. That's -- having player and pitchers -- put in the the work necessary to get back I don't share our doctors and that we all as together trying to figure out. You -- nature of the situation -- we didn't do our best or is all of it but there's no. Black and white incidents it's shoulder didn't respond to. This story. Yeah he was you know used -- as -- it was was strong the last here at the time contract and it didn't respond -- start throwing it didn't respond so. Now we are where we are live. Start number rehab yeah. Yeah I think you know hard and him you know we knew we sort of knew what we had -- You know any -- pitcher that age but. -- shoulders. Was strong and -- MRI it I wouldn't but fault offer. You these I think you know you always anticipate injuries you know as it did when he. We're very responsible for us to show off that. In spring training and say -- have -- and we can't believe their injuries now what are we going to do I think you always you know one year we Nomar and Trot Nixon announce spring training and we made. May do it on the posters here so. -- our responsibility as an organization to build up enough depth so that we can withstand injuries. Whether they occurred in the off season spring training or during the courses here. Will be our pitching definitely but for the past. We feel like we have enough internal options to. To thrive in any case and hopefully -- comes back and contribute something later in there we've we've looked into it I think you know. It's it's not a great market to do that right now in we like our internal options all the better than anything available. Outside the organization especially when you factor in the cost involved either offensive prospects portrayed her money for. For free agent so you know wolf keep keep our options open as -- move forward meg there's some pretty talented arms that not an opportunity. So they can do. East well we've we've gone over this meetings last couple days I forgot and other names and Buchholz Tavarez Hansack -- Snyder are also names that. Might find themselves you know with the opportunity here in the unfortunate situation -- he'll see six."

Play from 5:00[5:00]" Major league free agents out there. I mean does that create a situation here. It might -- more of -- buyer's market it's early you talked about costs because it is not depressed where that might be working together."

Play from 5:13[5:13]" I think you have to factor quality also I think over. We really only making losses you know perfect situation we're really only make -- move to bring in someone if we felt there is an upgrade them. Or someone who could really false start -- because did you have those internal options that image those guys have put in their time. For this kind of opportunity. Very beautiful -- Nintendo play."

Play from 5:46[5:46]" Not just -- have an effect on -- woman and most likely go with two there. And then the same to an Oakland again depending -- there some things with you know personal as a -- common -- like that but will love. We've addressed that the last couple days in meetings we'll address it with the pitchers tomorrow one feel when I'm me and John Farrell meet with them. And -- Pretty much tell guys how we'd like to go into it and animal make adjustments when necessary like we always do. Well I feel kind of alluded to read it it it certainly -- before we pick up balling your your testing or doubtful little bit. I think we're in a situation where. We will build handle -- there's going to be some people that probably won't get opportunities that maybe wouldn't at the beginning of the year. When you don't see the the on the field guys -- and to feel when most guys. About hey we need this -- pretty good chance we feel pretty good about our ballclub."

Play from 6:52[6:52]" The roster and it. More starters we."

Play from 6:59[6:59]" So we don't know yet again because we don't. No 34 and five are we -- we need some time to and it's a good is a perfectly good question we need some time to. See where we're going and how things shake out in the health of everybody we can make a decision today and somebody could pull a hamstring next week and change everything. --"

Play from 7:22[7:22]" Too bad it's. Remaining."

Play from 7:28[7:28]" Yeah it's very concerned -- didn't you know we knew going in that we are going to have to forty -- pitchers back into the equation this year so. I someone like Tavarez around you can can go back and forth in the -- seamlessly starting point plus games for us last year and respectable job this is valuable. This free agent market it's hard to get a guy wondered -- plus four million bucks you can trust with the ball. Can also provide that kind of versatility so -- by the way. We hear him some. Nice season good shape and I think you know we'll see you we talked to him how he wants to approach the spring -- he's approaching it as any other year we're going to give us a lot of things. -- NBA there."

Play from 8:29[8:29]" Yeah the -- on his yeah. Agent we've we haven't that the fact. That signing Tito to in his contract as a priority for this offseason. That remains to be the case we've made some progress and look to continue those talks soon but. I think we've done both parties have done a pretty good job of keeping the talks confidential and we think that's the best way to get a deal done so. We'll update you Lewis on Centre court. As of now there's no announcement would certainly still hope and expect to get something. Yeah."

Play from 9:09[9:09]" I don't all. I mean it's not opening tomorrow I do I think it's it's somewhat important. And it's again this if you guys lose sight of it that's okay I I think it's important for our staff and a walk -- to not lose sight of what Coco different -- I mean he can play center field about as good as you can. He played banged up when he probably shouldn't overtimes it got to a point where you think we felt like we need to make a change in the playoffs. And that happens in Coco handled it with grace which we appreciated. This -- coming into camp we're not going to forget as -- as of organization and he's the incumbent. We also understand all very what are you can do. But I guess again I just probably going to need to remind people from time to time what Coco has done for us. And I won't lose sight of that. And then -- won't Woolsey how this shakes out. It's."

Play from 10:10[10:10]" Talent evaluation results it's heartening. Judge what a player very -- and you've got the distinction regarding. Or five service Roberts. NB shortened evaluation period because you can do. How does that make that difficult -- does it make it more difficult for."

Play from 10:31[10:31]" LA and again it may make at all difficult on opening day. You know that this isn't and I'll -- speak to both he's getting guys were you know what I don't want them to do was worry about. Somebody flare a ball or -- 300 for a drink -- the numbers are always skewed we're gonna we're going to treat people like we always do. I'm sort of do what's in the best interest for our ball club. And we'll wolf wolf war always make a work toward don't want to really professional. Guys and we will make it worked and I don't. I'm not real concerned I mean I -- semi concerns everything concerned really not worried. Have a lot of confidence in their ability. Both of them to help us win games. And I don't I think this is to work on just one."

Play from 11:19[11:19]" You don't. You have to know either now -- Harrison. -- setting up your whole."

Play from 11:29[11:29]" Not -- we have a we know what we kind of know what will do should Gordon there's no way. Week you know what you want to talk dice K's wife and ask her when -- about his kids you know auditor wheels. We're kind of at a loss here we're we're good we're not that good. Lola we have so we have plan B we know what we're going to do. The biggest thing is that he's not going through everything for the first time. These gays in the lunchroom today and he knows people he's not introduced himself in a different language. Everybody's in her -- and -- them he knows Warfield one is Warfield who is he knows who John Farrell is. I think it'll be a lot easier I think. Last year understandably. Wore on him and I am we all understand it for me we don't understandably I think cattle appreciation for what he was going through I think this year. Will be much easier for him just -- Focused on baseball. -- it. I don't think they'll ever problem we always get attention here because for the Red Sox were a lot of curiosity there's a lot of interest what are media or fan interest. So certainly a lot of people your -- that that didn't ever become a problem Daisuke handled very well. And it didn't get in the way of anything on the field you -- guys back. -- tomorrow is even better to me it's fun to talk about the players but we actually did put the uniform on. And get out on the field it it's it's exciting -- two players come through the door the other thing for a while it's a fun time here."

Play from 13:36[13:36]" Address it. It yet I think you know every team in baseball look for catching the -- another."

Play from 13:47[13:47]" You're seeing something someday as it is just not enough catching out there sack that was made -- roster and farm system. And yeah we're certainly mindful of the fact that this is not going to play forever yet you know he's our captain our catchers for the presently held for the future as well you know I think our in my early catching. Get short changed little bit you know we have we have a lot of guys really taken major step forward declared himself as the guy is going to come up forces went in the least bit picture of that. -- dusty rounds in essence about had a solid year last year. Perform his left AAA. Pride -- certain -- terrorists and really rough first half but came out strong in the second -- in the mix of triple as their two young guys. Right there and then behind them we have Mark Wagner. An excellent season Lancaster on the double this year so. -- sometimes out of out of quantity comes real quality these guys at all chance -- catchers so we'll see what we have there. You know as an organization are constantly on the look out from work ethic from every possible -- you like. We'll."

Play from 15:07[15:07]" I think it's safe to say that. He's not going to start catching more games think his -- been pretty significant every year he also comes to camp. Ready to take out load I think what almost more important would Jason is not the amount of games he sparkles were always pretty consistent but it's the games he comes in when he's not starting. Try desperately at times not to bring him in those games I think when he needs arresting these arrests and that is really beneficial to him if he can not walk on those days. Well we were in meetings yesterday so. To comment on some I don't know about it would be very very good way for the season for that happened we start -- about baseball. But I think in general. I think if anything Major League Baseball as an industry. We may be guilty of pairing or has the science of some things that happened a long time ago. So now we're paying the price a little bit for that they're big -- some. Black guys along the way. But I I actually thing I'm not -- and a minority I think baseball is in an awesome shape maybe not perfect but pretty pretty good."

Play from 16:28[16:28]" Through all the what it."

Play from 16:38[16:38]" Now -- as an organization and we made the decision to turn over on materials are hard drives and everything else they. They were -- villages. Over the past five minutes of us doing our jobs and intelligence so I don't it's if you know we're we feel we feel good about not -- our roster and the stability of the organizations but you know where we are on paper they want in spring training here today at 41 spring training doesn't mean anything this is. Time here when we just start to come together as a club -- but it all the hard work and you know -- a very tough division right very tough league baseball has a lot of attrition throughout the course of the season and we're going to have to. Work hard play well -- contributions from. We got we count on and unexpected sources Jessica -- at the highest level. That's that I think. You know the organization is at a pretty stable place we have talented core immediately level. With some experience now we have some young players really starting to emerge in mid level as contributors we're very solid deep farm system so. You know they're thirty organizations right now going into the year -- facing the same questions we face hopefully you know seven. Months from now now months from now we'll look back at that we were you know as prepared as anybody to address those issues -- price you'd. -- the fact that we made so few changes. Was the result of circumstances any strategic plan on our part it -- we tried always be aggressive as the organization try to find every opportunity to get better this year and the market to trade market and the free agent market was such. That I feel in order to improve either -- really overpay. In terms of dollars not get value back of those dollars or really overpay in terms of prospects and not get value back for the prospects and other it's a short term benefits but justified. The long term detriment -- the organization so he saw a lot of teams that are well situated not really -- with the Yankees didn't besides -- guys make a lot of it was Indians they it was I think. The teams that. -- have stability in that. Maybe found a way to stay out of free agent market found a way to rely -- you'd rather than make moves him it didn't reflect any intent on our part I think it reflected the market and disability that we have as an organization. Now we've got options we didn't happen that desperately when you're going to Florida desperately certainly vestiges of solid lately he we've got their report today -- felt. You know completely took pains to reach out after the surgery just a matter of getting into an integrated decision"
