Political analysts discuss election results

[0:39]" I think you should be very encouraged when you look at the number of marriage incumbents who lost in the primaries. And -- last night and you looked down at new York and Bloomberg and a hundred million dollars and only won by five points. You're Tom Menino this morning UN led fifteen points you know it's so great about the campaign he --"

[1:53]" He does have the money he's had to be the richest men in. New York City just across the Hudson River however in New Jersey. Jon Corzine who also spent a small fortune. He used to be the ahead Manny Goldman Sachs before taking it private and making a fortune. Lost his bid for reelection to -- Chris Christie the Republicans. Marion is this any sort of aid. -- notation that ought to be watch closely in the in the White House urges all local."

[2:22]" Now I think there's a common denominator between the mayor's races we just talked about in New Jersey Virginia and new York and the messages through independent voters. If -- an incumbent. And you're not fixing the problem you are the problem. And you'll lose your job and I think that if you're a member of congress as a member of the legislature gear up for. Election in 30 that's what you gotta listen to people want these problems sex."

[3:25]" Well -- I think that Republican up in northern New York was. Really and when you look at her record she was actually more liberal that in the Democrat. The Democrat ran a moderate campaign is mr. Owens he was smart and he was able looking on in this really tough election year so. That's the big night the big win for the Democrats what that was being able to. When that's the net to the majority had been held by Republican before who joined the Obama administration."

[3:53]" What does it say though about the the heart and soul of the Republican Party these days is it pulling to the right. Too much."

I think the national message last night for President Obama and you wonder if it's gonna be a wake up call for him is that he's been governing from from the left too much and I think the voters last night in that election in New York 23. In in New Jersey and in Virginia said not -- pull the country back into the middle and I think that's important for all politicians to know -- get the job done and government from the middle and you'll be in good shape."

[5:00]" Ideology was so important to the Republicans. In the congressional race they were backing a guy who didn't -- live in the district. So that tells you that right their and I think again the most important thing to look at is the fact that."

[6:09]" I think both races you'd look at both of the years Scott front on the Republican side Martha Coakley on the Democrat side there's not a lot of excitement but when you look at that matchup for the final. Yes the recent going to be decided by independent. In -- middle of the road as the place to go Martha Coakley may have garden would be too far left to win her primary. She may be in trouble because she used car and I think even -- where most folks are at a moderate state like Massachusetts so is Scott -- can run a good campaign yet patrol rhetoric opportunity to pick up that the by running from the middle."

[6:56]" Well I think two things first night in my cap -- would have something to -- about who's who's the most liberal. Candidate in this race for starters. And that the -- Barack Obama is still very popular in Massachusetts however the reality is. People always vote for the person on the ballot period and the -- and that matters more than anything no one can deliver an election for you. The you have to control your own destiny. And I think again if you are out there are showing people that you know how to fix problems -- people we have a record of doing just that. Then you're going to be in good shape and I think on that score any of the Democrats especially Coakley capital wanna hand down a going to be Scott Brown everything that."
