[0:03]" Well."
[0:06]" I'm gonna try my best when the -- best right now to describe to you. The way I'm feeling today."
[0:15]" After thirteen years of football thirteen years NFL football. Thirteen years patriot football I'm retiring. That's. It's difficult to say in this is difficult to do. -- appear before you say that and but. Over my career. I worked so hard. To have his day more of like a celebration. More like -- celebration because this would be so much harder for me. If there was more that I wanted to accomplish. If there was any more goals that were left on the table. I think of everything that ever wanted to achieve in this game. And I was able to achieve those goals now. If you want to talk about the one the one goal I did not achieve and that was that was winning a fourth championship. I think that's a pretty good -- to achieve. Norma -- three previous one so I think we'll let that go we have guys in the locker -- now that'll that'll carry that torch like coach said and hopefully get that. But. All the gold. As I ever had I accomplished whether it was turning myself into a linebacker from the defensive lineman or winning championships."
[1:29]" Every every -- every player's career. Every player that's in the locker rooms -- gonna have a beginning middle and an end. And today's my hand. Today as mine and I can say that today."
[1:44]" And you look back at your career you just hope that you hope that you have you hope you have one moment a lot of people would have just one moment to sort of grasp and hold on to win and say this was it this that this was the one. This was the one that I'll always remember. I'm very fortunate to have more than one I'm very fortunate to have multiple moments like that. I've had so many of those moments. Whether it's winning championships here. I mean having a good time on the road with the guys."
[2:11]" You know having memories that you always forget -- always that you won't forget and things that are said in experiences that are shared. I spoke with. And I spoke with allowed my teammates yesterday individually on the phone to let them know what was happening today and answer no where I was in my career in the the one word that I use I found myself using this word. With with all of my teammates pretty much is fulfilled. Fulfilled for filled with my career. Filled with all the moments that I had. A feeling a feeling that. That man I did everything I set out to do is a good feeling. To me this is this is a celebration today for my wife for myself. From my family. For my son's right now who -- at home that rather of stayed home and play with their transformers incumbents in the front row. It's a celebration. A minute I'm in a great place and a great place I feel great today I've told built this October to craft this she's my wife knows this. But in the end where do you restart already start to say thank you thank you for all probably help and support that. That you received over your career. And I thought well that's that's pretty easy where historic night -- my wife. My wife is here in front -- that's that's that's been there for me ever since the beginning in. It would it would have been a lot easier if I had your average everyday ordinary career but I didn't. There there are the highest of highs and there was the lowest lows I didn't just. -- just coming here in and get drafted as a rookie play a little bit to do well and -- today's -- day. I had had a different career at a different career with that I. I think that I had moments that in my life that -- shared in in front of these cameras and on that field. Where this with my kids here. Coming at a Massachusetts General Hospital that. I'll always remember for the rest of my life in and all -- new England and the fans that will remember for the rest of my life and Heidi. Was with me through all those moments. To mister Kraft and the organization. I developed a relationship with -- mister Kraft early on in my career and I thought this this guy's. He's a great owner is -- is great boss to have and I think at around 0505. Is when I really started considering him a member of my family. The moments that we would have in his office and speak about you know decisions that should be made how things should be handled how's your life at this particular moment in time."
[4:48]" And -- that in audio is gave me a long time for a long time before coming back was -- nine times and cut once and this decision I've probably mention 900 times. Then and today I'm using the scissors so. Mr. craft. And -- organization and active expresses sincere thank you. My coach my coach Bill Belichick and I swear that's where referred him my coach. My coach because."
[5:18]" I feel like I feel like I'm nineteen -- sometimes and I hear him speak. And I swear it's the same thing that I would say. It's the same thing that I would say I would I would come into certain meetings and I would think we're certain weeks that. This is a week where we need to do this this is a week where this needs to be said -- certain certain emphasis points need to be made I always try to. Anticipate what bill's gonna save before he says that -- Just sort of being prepared in. Pat -- told us shake my head back there Beek is back in in the in the back of the room because he's and the same sort of things that I. I've already thought about going into that week's opponent. He's. He turned me into a champion he turned me into a champion -- and how to play linebacker and and I knew how to play I mean Parcells came in Caro came -- it. I didn't know how to win. Until bill came here. He taught me how to win. He taught everybody in the locker room how to win -- not to just go out there and play well."
[6:19]" can go out there and really hammered out there and even though it has a patriot logo on do you think they're gonna lay down. They're not. You still got to play it is still got to play and he taught us that coach. Thank you for."
[6:35]" He talked about 800 plays that you could put up their fair for what's. For what's my career encapsulated their 800 things I can talk about to thank you for for what you tell me. Thank you so much for being who you are I hope I hope the hope the who they have and head coach it's. I consider myself -- football historian I like to read an active. I like to see -- this game came from."
[7:05]" You can humor and SM special that when -- when I walk into this facility that office is on the left. I know that I better come ready to work in this in this guy's this guy's gonna have this team ready to win because he's. I mean he's up there he's up there -- I hope you realize that you have -- I have to say is that. He's a great and I really felt that a privilege today to learn under him for all of these years."
[7:31]" My teammates. My teammates I talked to a lot of them are talked to a lot of individual accounts and and meant. Co workers teammates and your fellow coaches whatever is this the moment you have with neither. Their analysts their analysts are now well I'll never forget them and I did a good job the last few years and because I never was that I never was scared just look at somebody and say how I felt about. I didn't like I tell you I felt about you found luncheon Antalya loves. It wasn't it wasn't that hard to me so I don't feel like I have a lot of about a good byes to say because they don't know how I feel about them. But I think something very important that I say is is about the fans in new England and what they've done for me. Like I was saying earlier I feel like my career was just different than a lot of other players and it also different with my relationship with the fans. They saw me here come in as an underdog in and so many things I had to do to become successful to be a player first by. Learning what -- drop was played linebacker I mean I had never taken a drop in my life in. And to access to it to talk about cover two was new to me adding even know where to go so. From the start and there all the way to to become who was in a contributor. And then a major contributor and a champion. The fans took their journey with me. They took that journey with me and and having a stroke in 2005. And and in my mind being retired. And then having -- come back the experience that with me to. And I could name I could name fans as means to you that I have relationships now that. Whether he was eleven years old in my rookie training camp and I saw him three weeks ago when he's 20/20 five year old man now you know that. The fans that I that. That I had such relationship with that will still send me an email now and then I have I have personal relationships with them with a lot of them and the support that they gave me is. Is it like it. Tell everyone of you individually I would. Thank you for for the support that you gave Meehan and in times of good in the highest highs -- to you were there for me -- helped. It helped get me back it helped keep me up. And it helped the priest known appreciation that you had for -- really help -- consider. Continuing to play in the -- 10111213."
[9:58]" Being a patriot my entire career I'm very proud. -- Heidi was my girlfriend -- we weren't married yet. And I got drafted patriots. And I looked her in her little apartment and I said he liked to stay with this team my entire career. Because I was tired of player movement I was tired of coaches movement I was I was I was just tired but I couldn't keep track of my favorite teams anymore. That's Alan -- when it stays -- the entire time I don't care what it what it encapsulates what would have to do. I'm very proud percent to."
[10:34]" I think there. The last thing I wanna say."
[10:36]" Is. Will. If I could just a couple a couple of us a couple of others think he's that are wanna forget. My brother Tony her brother Tony who. Give me always gave me those pushes when I needed him and then were very similar in people and he knew when I was down on any new. Any new and I needed to chicken but so. You know -- thanks man. My agent Brad blank did a great job for me. And also someone -- doesn't get things done -- a lot that's in this organization but it really does. Countless hours of work and and keeps us on the field this is Jim Whelan and his training staff. I know how could have a job he does parents to keep me on the field for for thirteen years in one piece. I don't know Jim if you -- in this but I appreciated -- and your staff with with with Joe and -- you know I really appreciate that they don't -- until. When you come in this facility. There's a sign. There's a sign. And the only thing the most important part of -- sign. I read every I've read at all but there's one part of it that I really think is important and and billed as a great job of always emphasizing this and you've heard him say it. It says do your job. Says do your job. I did my job for thirteen years. Now my job is done. My job is done now. Looking forward to live in the rest of my life. I really -- Thanks to guys have any questions I'd -- and I -- them. --"
[12:27]" I've had a lot of conversations with bill but you know certain certain things are only -- said in certain situations and and that's something you'll never hear during your career. In Africa so it's -- it's. It's a tremendous compliment because that's always that's always what we have -- what we achieved during the week when he gives us our goals on offense goes on defense -- goes on special teams the schools aren't always -- aren't always -- but we still win. No we may lose the turnover battle and still win we may have fifty yards in penalties and still win so. You know that wordperfect is. It's something that's really achieved on the football fields from a so perhaps and saying that's me this is probably the best company giving him if -- get."
[13:09]" So it's official Tedy Bruschi has retired from the NFL and emotional coach bill -- attack describing him as the perfect. Player."
