Play from 0:00[0:00]" Attorney General says that you can go ahead and collect or petition signatures are great to have you already begun that process."

Play from 0:07[0:07]" We can't begin until the secretary of state -- them up for this and they were waiting until they got the official go ahead from the Attorney General election where the process works. I was just on the phone with them and they said that within days they'll have -- ready. And so will will begin. You will begin immediately."

Play from 0:27[0:27]" Do you feel that there are certain areas of the state. Where opposition to this since I guess a greater than others."

Play from 0:34[0:34]" Now. Our -- we haven't -- there's any particular its army. Obviously we're not going to be collecting signatures a lot of Provincetown. But except for that are everywhere in the state -- is about the same. We've found. I mean we've. We have -- enormous. Outpouring. Over emotion on this since we mentioned that we were thinking of doing it I mean it's it's just been -- it's an incredibly overwhelming. When we were floating this idea. -- certainly you know we we polled 600 of our activists. To see what they saw it. Over 95% said not only we should do good but the bill -- And we've been getting an enormous amount of email and phone calls saying you have company and -- collect signatures this -- a very emotional issue. With a lot of people why do you think that's out. Well I think we -- our. I think it's an emotional issue because. Then there's you know this is this this whole thing was pushed in people's faces by court. That the legislature denied them the right to vote. And it's just been one thing after another the people have never gotten saying and they're very angry. The people particularly angry at the way this thing was done in the last you know. They use of the legislative session of the particularly sleazy and underhanded way. Pushing this and other states. That you know 44 states that voted that they didn't want gay marriage and other going to have to have a group through their -- in the constitution's -- So we're giving a lot of feedback in a positive feedback from around the country on this. End to him in Massachusetts. As to why should our marriage laws be changed. Two you know to please you know -- group pushing their social agenda and everybody else you know people are just sick of it. And it it really has struck a chord with people you know that whole combination of things were sort of the perfect storm."

Play from 2:41[2:41]" How do you fight the perception. That's out there that if you pursue something like this that your perhaps homophobic."

Play from 2:50[2:50]" The strategy has always been to demonize. And anybody who you know criticizes this movement. You know it's been that way in the press it's been that way by the game movement and that's what they do anybody that criticizes anything as a bigger -- local. People are getting tired of I I think people who have gotten to a point. Where is he noted doesn't really bother them as much anymore because they realize. That that's just a tactic. And it's a business in north campus police be discussing tactic meant to intimidate people you know this is -- legitimate. Issue and it'll be opponents. Refused to debated on its merits they you know they use you know name calling -- here and everything else people are just tired of out so. Yeah that's that's part of the lyrics."

Play from 3:38[3:38]" So so. Once these petitions are printed up how long do you have how many signatures you have to get."

Play from 3:46[3:46]" You have to get thirty about 33000 good signatures. And they have to be in ninety days after the governor signed it which decided on July 31 though let's the end of October. I wouldn't think it's going to be part. You know -- certainly been sort of overwhelmed with people wanting to do this the best time of the year to collect signatures. You know the flaw. And you know we don't think there'll be some you know there'll be any trouble with this at all."
