Lawrence is looking for $35 million to help balance the city's budget, but some lawmakers are having reservations about the man who will be overseeing the money.

[0:00]..." The city of Lawrence is really struggling and looking for help to the tune of 35 million dollars from the state. Lawmakers are or broke bugged argument over a potential bailout at the Statehouse and that's for refiners are behind you live this afternoon. And -- the point here is. There's no question the city needs some help. But lawmakers have some really read big reservations about the man who would be overseeing this whole thing. Ride the controversy here is about the mayor Lawrence -- William La land T Glock who is also a state representative. And he sits on the committee listening to testimony about Lawrence's financial problems right now. William and Tebow was elected mayor of Lawrence in November but did not give up his seat in the House of Representatives that's two paychecks funded by taxpayers about 70000 as a state -- and 100000 as mayor. This city is now facing bankruptcy and needs -- 35 million dollars to balance its 30 and 31 budgets. I hearing on whether the state will allow Lawrence to borrow that money got under way this morning at eleven. Mayor -- Antigua who also sits on the joint committee on "...

The city of Lawrence -- need to borrow money so that money would not be from other tax payers. In the states and what the state wants to do here is implement an overseer.
